Durham Law School’s Pro Bono team has earned the Silver Award in the 2024/25 Law School Challenge after a standout debut year in which they raised over £1,120 in support of access to justice.
Organised annually by LawWorks and Advocate, the Law School Challenge invites student teams across the UK to raise funds for the two charities, which provide free legal advice and representation to individuals who cannot afford it.
The Silver Award is given to teams that raise £1,000 or more during the competition, recognising their strong commitment to supporting access to justice. Durham’s participation this year marked its first time entering the national initiative – making this early success all the more notable.
In the coming academic year, DLS Pro Bono aims to build on their success and raise even more funds for this vital cause. The team’s goal is also to win the Challenge by topping the leaderboard against other law school teams and be invited to the House of Lords for the Attorney General’s Student Pro Bono Awards.
We look forward to seeing Durham Law School’s impact in pro bono fundraising flourish years to come.
