We are excited to invite you to the Durham CVAC welcome and programme launch for 2025-2026!
Join CVAC's students, staff and associated colleagues from across the university and beyond, to connect, share some refreshments, and hear about our 2024-25 programme. Our upcoming research events, student training opportunities, seminars and workshops explore the power and methodological practice of visual techniques, creative and analytical practices, and visual storytelling!
AS part of this year's welcome event, we are delighted to host a book launch, 'With love from an invader' by Yan Wang Preston.
The role of CVAC
The Centre for Visual Arts and Culture stimulates, strengthens and supports research in visual culture at Durham University and beyond.
Our aims:
CVAC’s collaborative 'Visual Methods' programme for this coming academic year offers a chance to reflect on and develop your skills in visual methods and visual literacy, bringing together diverse expertise from colleagues across our departments, centres and institutes and beyond. We will explore the possibilities and challenges of visual storytelling, including:
There will also be opportunities to network with like-minded visual enthusiasts, and connect with a growing community of practice - where the seed ideas for future collaborations can find fertile ground.
