Neil Scott, Chief Financial Officer
Responsibilities
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the financial strategy of the University, providing direction and oversight, and driving financial and operating performance to ensure the financial sustainability of the University.
The Chief Financial Officer advises on major capital projects and other investments.
Professional background and expertise
Neil took up the position in January 2024 and was previously Chief Operating Officer at the University of Salford.
He brings over 30-years' multi-sector experience across retail and leisure, the motor industry and higher education. He has also worked at Aston, Hull and Staffordshire universities.
Neil has significant experience in financial operations, strategic planning and delivering change. He has strong financial, commercial and transformational skills developed in complex organisations both nationally and internationally.
Education and qualifications
Neil holds a BA in Geography from Newcastle University and an MSc in Sustainability and Environmental Management from Staffordshire University.
