Staff and students in the department have access to significant computing and database facilities.

  • All staff have access to the Hamilton high-performance computing cluster.
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students can request their access via their dissertation or thesis supervisors.

In addition to the Hamilton computer cluster, the department has a number of local high-performance workstations, access to which can be requested via the department office.

Orbis is a database of information on listed, and major unlisted/delisted, companies around the world.  This international company information is very detailed and includes a lot more than financial reports.

Orbis Bank Focus is a global database of banks' financial statements, ratings and intelligence. It combines comprehensive financial statements, credit ratings, analysis model, bank structures, news, AML documentation and banking research.

Datastream is an online historical financial database providing data on financial instruments, equity and fixed-income securities and indicators for over 175 countries and 60 markets worldwide.

Worldscope Fundamentals are available through Datastream. This includes up to 20 years of historical data on active and inactive companies, using more than 1,500 data elements on each company.

The DealScan database contains comprehensive historical information on loan pricing and contracts details, terms, and conditions in the global commercial loan market.

DealScan sources include regulatory filings, bank submissions, and journalist contributions  containing information on over 110.000 global loans, high-yield bonds and private placements dating back to the mid-1980's.

Ivy DB US contains historical price, option sensitivities, and implied volatility data for United States equity and index options markets.

IvyDB Europe covers over 900 optionable securities (equities and indices), from all major European exchanges, including the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Spain, and Italy. Historical data and daily updates are available for most securities since January 2002.
