The Strategy, Innovation and Technology Group, as an integral part of the CSTIO at Durham University, supports an interdisciplinary community of academics who study contemporary strategies, innovation processes, and technological solutions to address pressing global and regional challenges. Our Group examines strategy formulation in organizations, how innovation and technology impact (and are impacted by) strategic choices, long-term business value creation, value capture and resource recombination, strategic investments and decision-making capabilities. Data analytics, information systems, and technology development and adoption are also central to our focus on innovation and the formulation, evaluation, as well as execution of strategic alternatives. Our research projects leverage the diverse expertise of our members to improve value creation and capture in organizations, corporate decision-making under uncertainty, R&D and innovation processes, as well as social and digital responsibility. Further focal points include the roles of internationalization, digitalization, intangible capital, as well as competition and collaboration, alliances, and ecosystems.
