The pandemic, trade wars, and geopolitical turbulence have strained supply chains, exposing risks and dependencies. Investigating the impacts of these disruptions is complex due to the intricate nature of supply and production networks. This talk will briefly introduce the work of the Supply Chain Intelligence Institute Austria (ASCII), an interdisciplinary research institute that combines data science, management science, and economics to provide evidence-based advice to decision-makers. Klaus will highlight the economic significance of supply chain disruptions and outline network approaches to address both general and specific questions in supply chain research.
