Biography

Alagesan Thasari is responsible for driving SKF’s Automotive Business to new heights of sustainable and profitable growth in India, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand Region. He exhibits a purpose-driven leadership style that impacts both business and people. Alagesan has been instrumental in multiple success stories by adopting game-changing, business-critical strategies and to fortify the company’s footprint, driving efficiency, and innovation while building high-performance teams. 
With over 25 years of global experience in leading large-scale organizations, and managing P&L, end-to-end business streams including strategy, marketing, strategic supply chain, operations, research and product development, Alagesan is celebrated for his outstanding leadership and communication skills, his strong commitment to sustainability and his ability to enhance financial results while expanding market share. He has a remarkable track record of spearheading strategic initiatives, fostering innovation, achieving operational excellence, and driving results across diverse industries including Industrial, Rail, Automotive, IT, Electronics and Consulting across APAC, Europe and Americas. He also has rich experience in leading complex programs for long-term capacity, footprint, localization and new product development including product commercialization and go to market strategies.  
Prior to his current role, Alagesan played a pivotal role in the success of multinational businesses including Alstom, Bombardier, Caterpillar, Wipro, Airtel, and TVS Motors.  
Alagesan holds an MBA from Durham University Business School, United Kingdom, in addition to bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. He also underwent Executive Education with the Indian School of Business (ISB) on Leadership Development and Mechanical Engineering from Ramakrishna Mission Technical Institute.  
Beyond his professional endeavors, Alagesan is a dedicated volunteer in social and community services. He is a founder President Andril Foundation focusing on education, empowerment and enablement underprivileged youth. He has a passion for music and fitness, loves immersing himself in books, and is a fervent traveler who revels in exploring diverse places, people, cultures, and cuisines.
