Dr. Marc Launer PhD MSc
Director of Digital Products at Boeing Commercial Airplanes Product Development, an Authorized Signatory (Prokurist) for Boeing entities in Germany, and an elected member of the city executive council in Erzhausen.
Biography
Dr. Marc Launer is a seasoned aerospace professional with over two decades of experience in aviation safety, digital transformation and product development.
After beginning his career on the NASA Aviation Safety Program’s World-Wide Aviation Database project—collaborating with Boeing, Jeppesen, NASA and the Technical University of Darmstadt—Marc joined Boeing in 2003. He has led engineering teams responsible for Data Production and Delivery Systems, Airport Moving Map Databases, Certified On-board Databases and Fleet Management Solutions, and has contributed at enterprise-architecture and business-strategy levels.
In the mid-2010s Marc pivoted to the digitization of aircraft, driving integration of cabin, payloads and maintenance systems into the emerging Digital Airline Industry. In 2024 he was appointed to define and engineer the digital aspects of future aircraft and their derivatives. He has managed multicultural teams across North America, Europe and Asia and advises start-ups and small businesses on early product development, market-driven product management and innovation.
