Biography

Li Ding is a Professor in Operations Management at Durham University Business School and Faculty EDI lead. She holds a Ph.D. in Management Science from the University of Edinburgh. Her general research interests encompass the application of probability, statistics, operations research, and machine learning methods to business problems, with a specific focus on resource allocation challenges within operations and supply chain management. Her research has been published in journals such as Management Science, Production and Operations Management, OR Spectrum, Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, and the Journal of the Operational Research Society. Additionally, her work has received funding from EPSRC and UKRI, addressing ICU bed allocation problems during the pandemic. On teaching front, Li instructs courses on Operations Management, Decision-Making and Business Modelling, and Supply Chain Risk Management for both Undergraduates and Postgraduates.
