Sergej Tolz

Sergej has worked for the last 8 years as COO, Chief Sales Officer and head of strategy at InsurTech business KASKO, helping the company grow from pre-revenue to profitability and work with over 30 insurance clients from the likes of Allianz to Zurich. In this role Sergej setup, ran and operationalised all none-IT departments including sales, project management, product management, HR, and Finance, whilst taking a leading role in directing the company’s strategy alongside the two founders (CEO & CTO).

He now also works as board advisor for UK small businesses via the charity, Be The Business. Sergej obtained an BA Hons in Chinese with Japanese from the University of Durham and after an M&A internship at JP Morgan, moved to China for two years, where he worked in Sales for an IT systems integrator, quickly rising to deputy sales manager. On returning to the UK Sergej joined Bloomberg, where he worked in various sales teams across Germany and Africa, before becoming Team Leader of a newly created emerging markets FX team and later taking over global management of one of Bloomberg’s largest banking clients. Following 5 years at the company he decided to switch to entrepreneurship, first completing an MBA at INSEAD and later working on two own early stage start-ups, whilst doing freelance consulting. Sergej speaks English, German, Russian and Mandarin and lives in London.
