Our Grey College Trust exists to support both clubs, societies and individual members of the College community. It holds a fund that has been set up through legacies and other donations from Alumni and friends of the College. Our Trustees meet once or twice per annum, and our Master of Grey College acts as Chair of the Trust. At present, Durham University acts as the Custodian Trustee of the fund.
Within the Grey College Trust we have established three distinct awards to support the fundamental aims of the Opportunities Programme. The Development Award, The Opportunity Award, and The Participation Award respectively, provide targeted financial awards each academic term to both individuals and student groups who wish to pursue an initiative to enhance their personal development skills or benefit the College and wider community. These awards sit within and form a fundamental foundation of the Opportunities Programme. In addition, it may be to provide hardship assistance with subsistence costs at Durham, provided that they are not eligible for centrally provided (State) funding.
