We recognise the importance of a student’s health and wellbeing to their academic progress and wider university experience. We have a dedicated team of staff who provide general pastoral help and welfare support to students who have short-term problems preventing full engagement with their studies. For the more serious and long-term issues, we work closely with and refer students to professional support services in the University and elsewhere.
Our Junior Common Room also has its own Welfare Team, drawn from the student body. It runs campaigns on specific issues, such as Alcohol Awareness and Mental Health. It also provides a confidential listening support service, with regular ‘drop in’ sessions.
