Lizzi Kew Ross joins us for Summer Term 2022 as our Visiting Fellow in Residence

Lizzi is a dancer, choreographer and teacher, and artistic director of LKR & Co, a dance company specialising in site specific dance music performances. She is regularly funded by Arts Council England on a project basis. She works as a freelance movement director/choreographer for theatre and creates new work particularly in outdoor settings and unusual spaces, for libraries and galleries

Commissions include projects for Dance United, in Selfridges Department Store, and at the William Morris exhibition at Temple Place, new work at the Old Vic Tunnels underneath Waterloo Station, musicals for the Arts Theatre Cambridge, and a film on a lighthouse.

Lizzi's current work includes working on a community opera celebrating the life of Dr Jenner in Gloucester, and a new work A Time to Mourn & a Time to Dance for Springs Dance Company.

Stations of the Crossing at Durham Cathedral - a collaboration with video sound artist Mark Dean - was performed throughout the day on Easter Monday 2022.

Lizzi teaches in several different settings, within a conservatoire, freelance community outreach, and with mature students and is presently working part time at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance. Her ongoing research interests are in collaborative practice and image making.

As part of the Ruth Etchells Fellowship at St John's College, Durham, she is researching into the nature of poetic images in film and poetry in relation to her own choreographic work.

Lizzi was awarded at the Educators Livery Company 2020 for professional work in educational environments and has subsequently received further support from the Professional Development Grant scheme of the Worshipful Company of Educators Trust.
