Our College is situated within a row of Georgian townhouses on the Bailey in the heart of the medieval city of Durham, and is overlooked by the Norman cathedral that makes up one half of the millennium-old UNESCO World Heritage Site. You are never more than a 15-minute walk from lectures or the University library. Our secluded gardens and lawns stretch down to the River Wear, where we have our own boathouse.
We’ve invested heavily in our estate over the past years. Most of our bedrooms have been refurbished and we have built new dining facilities, function rooms, a new gym, and some accessible en-suite accommodation. The 12th century College chapel is a wonderful space for music and worship and 2018 saw the completion of our brand new three-storey library and learning resource centre, open 24/7 with free WIFI and state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment.
Our dedicated Postgraduate Study Centre, housing the Middle Common Room (MCR), is an ideal space for intellectual and social activity, with areas for individual and group study, reading and relaxing.
