Faith Support
The College Chapel was originally in the basement of the Fergusson Building but in the 1960s the distinguished ecclesiastical architect George Pace created a beautiful new Chapel within the roof space of the Northeast Wing. The Chapel contains a sculpture of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Patron Saint of the College by Fenwick Lawson.
You may wish to use it for quiet prayer and meditation, but it is also a nice place to get away from it all; a good place to sit and read.

The College Chaplain is Fr Peter Kashoursis. Fr Peter hosts services such as Holy Communion in the College Chapel. The College Chapel Choir is active and sings Evensong fortnightly in term time. A highlight of the academic year is the St Mary’s Carol Service at Durham Cathedral.
Our Assistant Chaplain is Alex Gooch. Alex is a Humanist and is in College weekly in term time where he runs a mediation session open to all.
