A fantastic showing for Durham University Boat Club (DUBC) at their home regatta weekend. Performances in the boat by DUBC blew the competition out of the water, securing Championship titles at their home event. The stellar performances at the Durham Regatta have put DUBC squads in prime position for the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta.
DUBC had an awesome showing at the Durham Regatta, with every crew making their respective final and winning five of the six events. With the women’s squad down in Henley training for the Henley Women’s Regatta, we beat local rivals Newcastle University in every race entered, ending up with multiple Durham-Durham finals in front of our home crowd. Our seniors ended up taking home the Championship 8+ trophy, the Championship 4-, and notably the prestigious Grand Challenge Cup for Men’s Championship 4+. The novices performed incredibly well too, winning their 4+ event both days against tough opposition to retain the trophies they won last year.It was another great weekend for DUBC, and we’re incredibly grateful to DARC for running and organising the event.
