Last weekend Durham University Boat Club took the GB November trials by storm. Each year, the squad take down a cohort of high-performance athletes to try their luck at GB trials; weighing themselves up against the most talented athletes from across the country.
DUBC fleeted 16 athletes down South to take part in two days of racing: a 2000m ergometer trial on the Saturday, and a 5000m water time-trial on the Sunday. In advance of trials, the athletes had spent considerable time in small boats for the past few weeks, completing some serious mileage to perform well and hopefully advance to the next trials.
