Two recent Durham University graduates compete for their home nations at the pinnacle of Lacrosse in the 2023 World Championships, held in San Diego.
Durham Men’s Lacrosse club had 2 recent graduates at the World Championships in San Diego at the end of June.
Matt was a member of the Peru Lacrosse Club. Matt was part of our first team who won the BUCS championship in 2022. He helped Peru grab a win against Korea, winning 17-5 in the conference stage of the competition. Peru managed to place 22nd in the competition. Matt managed to score two goals and assist five times across the course of the competition.
Isaac was a member of the Jamaica Lacrosse Club. Isaac was instrumental in building up knowledge of the sport among our domestic players this year. He showed off his ability when he starred on the Lacrosse Network Instagram after his incredible performance scoring 4 goals and assisting one in Game 1 against Germany. Jamaica went on a 5-game winning streak before facing Canada in the quarter finals. Jamaica managed to place 8th in the competition. Isaac managed to score 9 goals and assist twice across the competition.
