Present student, James Johnson had the amazing opportunity to represent Great Britain at the 2023 Aquathlon World Championships which was held in the Spanish Balearic Islands.
Current student, James Johnson packed up his running shoes and wetsuit with one goal in mind. The Aquathlon World Championships! For those that don’t know, Aquathlon combines running and swimming.
In May this year James headed to Ibiza, Spain where he would represent Great Britain and compete against the world’s best Aquathlon athletes.
Race day approached and the conditions were not in favour for James and his fellow competitors. James started the race with a solid 1km swim in rough, choppy sea conditions. James then transitioned into a gruelling run after the swim where his determined efforts along with support from spectators saw James pick off competitors one by one. James crossed the line finishing 5th in his age group and 1st of the Great Britain athletes.
A truly amazing performance from James and we can’t wait to see what he achieves in his career.
