Brightfield and widefield fluorescence microscopes offer the simplest and most widely used methods in light microscopy.
The Nikon SMZ18 fluorescence stereo microscope combines high resolution with a large depth of field and an extensive zoom range, making it ideal for imaging whole organisms, including under fluorescence illumination.
Equipped with a 1x objective lens, the SMZ18 provides a balance between field of view and resolution while maintaining ample working space for sample manipulation. The system uses a Nikon Intensilight mercury lamp, with filter cubes for GFP-B and RFP fluorescence. Image acquisition is supported by Qimaging cameras, with both colour and monochrome options available.
