DBS Genomics
We are a core DNA Sequencing and Fragment Analysis Facility located in the Department of Biosciences at Durham University. Our DNA Sequencing Service was one of the first to be established in the UK, with the purchase of one of the original models of automated DNA Sequencers from Applied Biosystems.
Having provided a commercial service to academic and research institutions worldwide since 1989 we have established a solid reputation in our field, which has enabled the service to thrive in the face of ever-increasing competition. We have a loyal and long-standing customer base, many of whom have come to us via personal recommendation. We are approachable and friendly, placing a strong emphasis on customer service. Our highly trained and experienced staff are always available to discuss your DNA sequencing or fragment analysis needs.
For Sanger Sequencing we use Applied Biosystems 3730 capillary instrumentation ensuring confidence that the best data possible will be achieved, and also allowing us to offer medium to high throughput, meaning your samples should never need to wait for electrophoresis. For Next Generation Sequencing we operate Illumina HiSeq 2500 and Illumina MiSeq, allowing a broad range of applications with powerful and efficient throughput, supported by a dedicated Bioinformatician.
We are extremely competitively priced, offering some of the lowest rates in the UK without making any compromise on quality.
