Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, (EDI) encompassing all aspects of equality, is fundamental to a supportive, progressive and successful Department.

We have a Chemistry Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, made up of representatives from all sections of the Department, that is responsible for promoting best practice in everything we do.

Who we are

The Chemistry EDI Committee meets regularly to discuss issues and decide on actions to improve equality, diversity and inclusion for everyone in the Department of Chemistry. The EDI committee comprises representatives from every departmental committee and all staff and student groupings.

Athena Swan

We are proud to have held Athena Swan charter bronze award since 2014.  In October 2022, we were awarded the Athena Swan charter silver award.
