We welcome applications to our Visiting Scholars Programme. We are widely-acknowledged to be one of the leading Education Departments in the UK and in the world, and over the years we have hosted a great number of visiting scholars.
You will be based at Durham for a period from a month to a year. We give preference to applications from scholars who will engage in research with academics working in related fields, and we therefore strongly advise you to review our academic staff page and make contact with a potential academic mentor. You will be expected to pursue a specific research project with us and both to deliver and participate in research seminars. Shared office space, a computer terminal and access to our library facilities may be available depending on resource constraints.
During teaching periods you may also attend courses taught within the School. The attendance of courses will not be credit bearing.
We do not provide financial support for travel, accommodation or subsistence and you will be responsible for ensuring that you have the correct travel documentation, including visas.
The School of Education is proud to sponsor IAS fellows.
