This offers a direct route into teaching with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). It combines academic theory with a programme of school-based placements.
This is a broad multidisciplinary degree with modules that focus upon the philosophical, sociological, psychological, historical, political and cultural aspects of education.
Education Studies can be studied as a single subject or with one of our partner subjects including Geography, Psychology and Sociology, providing links to other distinguished departments within the University.
Joint subjects are comprised of 50% Education modules and 50% study in one of the three subject partner departments. The breadth of our modules allows for the creation of pathways through the programme. This may be linked to one of the four strands of educational expertise within the programme: pragmatic; sociological and philosophical; psychological; and international and intercultural education. We simply ask that you have intellectual curiosity!
