Geography Student Receives National Recognition
The Department extends warm congratulations to Harriet Jennings, who was awarded 2nd place in the RGS-IBG Participatory Geographies Research Group 2020/21 dissertation competition. The title of Harriet’s dissertation was:
“What to wear? Exploring the sartorial practices of young Bengali women in an age of transnational fashion.”
The committee noted that the dissertation “was excellent and very interesting. We have particularly appreciated how your dissertation showed a clear commitment to enabling women’s own voices – in groups and individually – whilst recognising the difficulties of achieving this within an undergraduate dissertation.”
Harriet was supervised by Prof Anna Secor.
