Guest Speaker: Kelly Stricklin-Coutinho

“Kelly Stricklin-Coutinho is the Chair of the Civil Mediation Council. She is a mediator and barrister at 39 Essex Chambers. She has been appointed as a member of the Civil Procedure Rule Committee, which makes rules of court for the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal, the High Court and the County Court of England and Wales. She is appointed to CEDR’s panel of mediators and to Sport Resolutions’ panels of mediators and of arbitrators, as well as to IAMC Hyderabad’s panel as a specialist mediator. She acts in commercial disputes, including international disputes, financial services disputes, commercial public disputes and high value tax disputes. As counsel, her recent cases include the landmark Churchill v Merthyr Tydfil CBC [2023] EWCA Civ 1416, in which she represented the CMC, CEDR and Ciarb, led by Edwin Glasgow KC.”
