The Legal Profession Qualifying Board Malaysia has recently recognised Durham’s LLB for the purpose of the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP).

This means that candidates who have successfully completed all the requirements for the Durham LLB after 1 January 2026 are eligible to apply for registration to sit the CLP examination (subject to all other requirements having been fulfilled).

This is excellent news for our students, and a strong endorsement of Durham’s LLB and the quality of our graduates.

Durham Law School is a world leader in legal education and research. The LLB provides students with an excellent understanding of the law of England and Wales, as well as legal research and practice. In addition to undertaking a number of core or foundational modules, students also have the opportunity to specialise across a wide range of optional modules as well as the option of taking one module in another subject area during their LLB. Students are taught through a combination of lectures, small group tutorials of 8-10 students, seminar groups and private study by many leaders in the field.
