Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The Department of Philosophy's current EDI initiatives include:

  • Athena Swan: The Philosophy Department has been awarded Bronze as an individual department, and is part of the Arts and Humanities Faculty, which has been awarded silver. The department is currently working on action plans relating to these two awards.
  • Decolonisation: The Philosophy Department is committed to broadening our curriculum. As part of this commitment, the department has introduced a new module, World Philosophies, which offers students the opportunity to study a wider range of global philosophical traditions.
