A particular area of Philosophy that I am interested in is Climate Ethics. I’ve always been more interested in the more applied ethics questions and also political philosophy […] and from that I am now researching for my dissertation the ethics and justice of solar geoengineering.

My particular interest in Philosophy is in Political Philosophy focussing on how we can use Philosophy to analyse and look at the current world around us, the political, and the social world and how it all interacts. In particular my dissertation has been a brilliant way of exporting this area focussing on Republican political theory which looks at how relationships between agents and how power dynamics can influence the kind of fundamental philosophical principles such as of freedom, autonomy, and self-ownership.

I'm actually going to go into Finance which is a surprise to a lot of people considering I've studied Philosophy. I think Philosophy has so many transferable skills. I like to almost label Philosophy not as a subject of study but rather as studying the art of learning. Philosophy teaches you really how to think and how to structure your arguments and how to divide them into premises.

I am currently writing a dissertation examining how British colonialism created various social constructs that affect women of colour in Britain today. I am examining that within the context of healthcare, social care, and policing and how that affects victims of sexual assault. I think that's really important work because a lot of the research so far is very American focused but there's not enough in the British context and it's a very grown field in Social Philosophy here in the UK and it's exciting to be a part of that.

When I applied for University I actually applied for a Philosophy degree but my parents didn’t know what Philosophy is and they didn’t know what you can do with Philosophy and they didn’t know what philosophers do. So I told them that philosophers are just explorers. So instead of exploring the material world we live in we explore the fundamental facts about the world we live in and what it means to be human.

One project I'm working on is based on the work of the Wachowski sisters […] who directed "The Matrix". Their work is so deeply philosophical and theological that you can't watch it without having some philosophical thought […]. It led me to the question of how my divinity be shown on film and led me to questioning the way or the places where I see divinity in the world.
