Psychology Post-offer Visit Days

Psychology is concerned with understanding human nature and investigating the processes underpinning the thoughts, feelings and motivations behind our actions.

You will explore topics such as social behaviour, childhood development and cognitive neuroscience. During your time as a student at Durham, you will have the opportunity to run and participate in the Department’s cutting-edge experiments.   Use the links below to find out more about the department and our courses.

Schedule for the Day

Come along and visit the department, see what facilities we have, and speak to our staff. We will be offering tours of the different lab spaces (sign up on the day) and an opportunity to see the teaching spaces you will be learning in if you choose to come to Durham. You’ll also hear more on the process from here, have an introduction from the Head of Department, and experience a couple of mini lectures to get a feel for the learning style.

There are three opportunities for offer holders to visit the Department of Psychology:

  • Wednesday 14th February 2024
  • Wednesday 20th March 2024
  • Saturday 27th April 2024

Sessions will take place between 1:30pm and 4:30pm according to the schedule below.

Information for guests of offer-holders

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate guests of offer-holders in L68 and on department tours. Guests of offer-holders are more than welcome to join us in L50 for the talks at 2:30.

We encourage guests of offer-holders to take the opportunity to see some of the facilities that Durham University has to offer, such as the Bill Bryson Library and Sports and Wellbeing Park.  Guests of offer-holders may also wish to visit some of the public attractions that are close by, such as the Botanic Gardens, Durham Castle and Cathedral, and Oriental Museum. There are also plenty of woodland and river paths to walk and explore the surroundings of the department.

Guests of offer-holders are also welcome to drop-in to speak to central services during the event at the Palatine Centre and the Information Hub.
