The GJ Russell Facility sits within the Faculty of Science at Durham University and is designed to support research through Electron Microscopy across multiple scientific disciplines
The facility has a number of capable systems to support current research needs that include scanning electron microscopes (SEM), transmission electron microscopes (TEM) and focused ion-beam microscopes (FIB) that are accessible to staff and students from across the university.
The facility has an extensive track record of working with high-value industrial and problem-solving requests as well as regional universities on routine characterisation as well as R&D projects.
The facility is a centralised unit for expertise to support, train, and guide Durham Researchers while offering external support.
Selecting the instrument pages takes you to a summary of the individual instruments and their capabilities.
