Ongoing support from your Library and Collections
We know not everyone will have the chance to visit us during Welcome Week, and there’s a lot to take in at the start of term. With that in mind, we’ve developed various sessions that will be running throughout Michaelmas and Epiphany terms as part of our ongoing welcome support.
These will help you to familiarise yourself with the Library, find out more about our services and develop your academic skills.
Meet and Greet
Our Meet and Greet sessions provide you with an opportunity to meet up with some of our team in Bill Bryson Library and find out more about using the physical library space and services.
Online Essentials
This session takes you on a virtual guided tour of how to find our various websites, how to log in (where needed) and where to find information. This includes our Library and Collections website, library catalogue, services guides, your library account and support information and contacts.
Chat With Us
Join some of our friendly staff at our weekly Chat With Us sessions for a free hot drink and a snack and ask us anything about the Library.
Academic Skills sessions
We offer various skills workshops and drop-in sessions covering a wide range of topics, from finding and managing information to critical reading, referencing, and writing.
Research Development Programme sessions
Our Open Research team provides a programme of training sessions for staff and postgraduate researchers covering all aspects of open research.
For more information about each of the above sessions and how to attend, visit our Ongoing Support guide.
