Restricted access to areas of Palace Green Library
Due to essential works, there will be a period of restricted access to some areas of Palace Green Library throughout April and May.
The planned works will affect access to the following areas:
- Barker Research Library
- Penned and Printed exhibition
- Some areas of our World Heritage Site Visitor Centre
- Baby change facilities
The above spaces will be open at the following times during the week (subject to change). Normal opening times apply at weekends (please note, Barker Research Library is closed Saturday and Sunday as usual):

This restricted access will also affect availability of our Virtual Search Room and copying service. To discuss potential alternative access, please complete our enquiry form.
If you wish to see Archives and Special Collections material during April and May, you must notify us at least three working days in advance, and include a full list of document references or shelfmarks. Please contact us using our enquiry form.
Pop-up library study spaces
During this time, additional pop-up library study spaces will be available in the following areas:
- Almshouse PG27 (opposite Palace Green Library) - available from Monday 22 April
- Wolfson Gallery (upstairs in Palace Green Library) - available from Monday 22 April to Friday 31 May
