We are pleased to announce Neil Scott as our new Chief Financial Officer.
Neil has been our Interim Chief Financial Officer since December 2023 and was previously Chief Operating Officer at the University of Salford. He brings over 30-years’ multi-sector experience across retail and leisure, the motor industry and higher education. He has also worked at Aston, Hull and Staffordshire universities.
Neil will officially start the permanent role on 1 August 2024. He will be responsible for the financial strategy and sustainability of the University and, as a member of our University Executive Committee, will play a key role in the delivery of our University Strategy.
He will lead the Finance and Procurement Division and is tasked with continuing the process of modernisation of our systems and processes.
Professor Karen O’Brien, our Vice-Chancellor and Warden, said: “Neil brings significant experience in financial operations, strategic planning and delivering change. His strong financial, commercial and transformational skills will be critical to achieving our ambitions in research and education and to our overall financial sustainability in what is currently a challenging financial environment for the Higher Education sector.”
