Abstract
Amid the ongoing war, Ukraine's higher education system is facing profound challenges that significantly impact the nation’s economic recovery and long-term development. This lecture will explore the crucial role of higher education at the macro level, focusing on how educational policies and strategies can drive economic growth and support the country’s recovery efforts. The lecture will examine the war's impact on the structure and priorities of the education system, analyze shifts in demand for specific fields of study, and evaluate the effectiveness of policy responses. The discussion will highlight how the higher education system can be leveraged not only to rebuild the economy but also to lay the foundation for sustainable development in the post-war period. Key strategies for aligning educational reforms with economic goals will be discussed, providing insights into how Ukraine can navigate these turbulent times and emerge stronger.
