The Institute of Advanced Study aims to support academic staff in developing ambitious, novel and excellent interdisciplinary research. Its call for projects and Fellowship nominations is now open, and colleagues are warmly invited to submit proposals.
There have been some minor changes to the IAS research development programme this year. We will continue to support major project proposals, as before, but will also be responding to a need to facilitate more small-scale/preliminary forms of research development. The Institute will select projects based on their quality and interdisciplinary research potential, and their contribution to the University’s strategic aims. Funding will be allocated in direct relation to this potential and to the scale of activities proposed.
Colleagues interested in developing proposals are welcome to contact their Faculty IAS Director: Professor Nicholas Saul (Arts and Humanities), Professor László Polos (Business), Professor Alex Easton (Science), and Professor Rob Barton (Social Science and Health).
In addition, colleagues may also contact the IAS Executive Director, Professor Veronica Strang, the IAS Manager, Linda Crowe or IAS Administrator - Dr Ronan O'Donnell.
Details of the IAS’s current project call are available on our webpage.
