Interdisciplinary Mentorship Awards
Celebrating excellence in the mentorship of interdisciplinary researchers
Our mentorship awards celebrate individuals at all career stages who go above and beyond to foster and support fellow interdisciplinary researchers. This new scheme starts the conversation about how we support each other as interdisciplinary researchers and provides a space to share best practise.
There are two categories of Excellence in Interdisciplinary Mentorship awards: One to celebrate the excellent mentorship offered by postdoctoral researchers and one to recognise academics who have shown outstanding mentorship of their academic colleagues.
Excellence in Interdisciplinary Mentorship: Postdoctoral Award
This award recognises postdoctoral researchers who have shown excellence in their mentorship of researchers both within the same group or from across disciplines.
How to Nominate:
Nominees are to be identified by two individuals (from any career stage) as having supported and guided their development as interdisciplinary researchers. The postdoctoral award includes a £500 prize towards conference travel or consumables to develop independent research.

Excellence in Interdisciplinary Mentorship: Collegiate Award
This award recognises the excellent mentorship that takes place between peers. It celebrates the collegiate support that is often hidden, but is so valuable to academics as they navigate interdisciplinary research. The mentorship can be between academics of the same, or differing seniorities, and can involve mutual support or that of an advisor-advisee.
How to Nominate:
Nominees are to be identified by two peers (i.e. not members of their research group) as having supported their careers or growth as interdisciplinary researchers.
