ARIA Seed Funding Call Project Ideation & Scoping Session - Collab Coffee

Purpose 

This session is intended to identify and prioritise a small number of strong, fundable project ideas for the ARIA Seed Funding call (up to £500k per project). 

The focus is on developing viable concepts, not just informal discussion. 

Format 

• Identification and discussion of possible projects which match the brief 

• Identification of complementary expertise 

• Critical evaluation against the ARIA brief 

• Selection of projects to take forward 

Colleagues with experience of similar funding calls will be present to help shape proposals and assess feasibility.

Scope 

We are particularly interested in: 

• Interdisciplinary projects 

• Clearly defined problems with novel approaches 

• Ideas that can be developed into a credible application within the ARIA framework (For example: computational × experimental collaborations, or cross-domain approaches such as computer science and psychology.) 

Next Steps 

Selected projects will be supported through a small grant-writing group, with the aim of submitting competitive applications to ARIA.

Open to all interested researchers. 

Attendance is particularly encouraged for those: 

• considering submitting to ARIA 

• seeking collaborators 

• with relevant technical or methodological expertise
