Community engagement and partnerships

Durham Energy Institute works with communities to inform local discussions on energy issues such as fracking and heat networks and to support local energy projects.

It also has a schools outreach programme on energy education and encouraging engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths subjects.

Our Energy students are also encouraged to undertake locally-relevant research projects which can support communities in their low-carbon aims.
