The Centre for Nineteenth-Century Studies (CNCS) was founded in 2013 by Professor Bennett Zon to develop research in long-nineteenth-century studies in northeast regional universities in the United Kingdom.
We have three subcommittees on issues concerning postgraduate, postdoctoral and research and hold regular events throughout the year, including academic and train-related conferences, workshops, seminars and lectures. CNCS hosts many externally funded projects and has recently expanded its national and international interests through the creation of CNCS International, a consortium of universities, independent research organisations and professional societies from around the world.
