The Child of the North Report highlighted the challenges and struggles of children in the North, forcing us to think how we can help to better the lives of these children.
As Durham’s institutional champion for Child of The North, I would like to welcome you to Durham’s very own Child of the North collaboration. The Child of the North Report highlighted the challenges and struggles of children in the North, forcing us to think how we can help to better the lives of these children.
To help us answer this question we need to ask what a child needs to thrive?
We are looking for anyone who is interested or is currently working on the following areas (but not limited to this):
As the health and wellbeing of a child is dependent on external factors. We are equally interested in research that helps the North East covering the following areas (but not limited to this):
If any of the above speaks to your research and interests please complete this short online form. It will only take a moment of your time but will allow us to build a picture of what is already happening at Durham. If this doesn't speak to your research or interests please circulate this around your department, your help is really appreciated.
We are looking to build a web presence to showcase the great work we are currently engaged in or are looking to engage in. The web will then act as a platform to link us to our industry partners and universities in the North East. Collaboratively we will create an extraordinary piece of work that will help improve the lives of many people especially the children living in the North East of England.
There are also many other exciting opportunities available once the website is up and running but for now let's think about how our research can help the children and/or the North East region to begin with.
Thank you
