REACH County Durham is a partnership between Durham County Council, Durham University and Durham Community Action. Our aim is to examine ways to tackle the unfair and avoidable differences in health experienced by communities in our area, what we call the “wider determinants of health”. These play a crucial role in shaping health outcomes for County Durham residents.
Julie Englund (Public Health Research and Evaluation Practitioner) and Rio Floreza (Community Involvement Lead) sit down together as operational team members for REACH County Durham to reflect on the project to date. Join them as they discuss how the tracks laid down to enable more collaborative research between partners (Durham University, Durham County Council and Durham Community Action) will ensure that priority areas are jointly identified and that that involvement from communities more widely remains at the heart of the process.
