Durham University seeks to appoint an exceptional researcher and scholar an Assistant Professor (Research) with research interests in the broad field of Health with an interest in the below North East and North Cumbria Applied Research Collaboration themes. Holding a PhD, we are seeking creative, high quality researchers and scholars to foster a culture of exploration, discovery and intellectual challenge that generates international recognition, respect and engagement.

Our vision for the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) is to achieve ‘Better, fairer health and care at all ages and in all places’. We are a regional network of clinicians, public health and social care practitioners, policy makers, commissioners, service providers, charity and voluntary workers, lay members and researchers who are all focused on applied research and innovation to prevent illness, improve care and sustainability, promote population health and reduce health inequalities. The NENC Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) is hosted by the Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust with partners across regional NHS, social care and higher education organisations.

The Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing (WRIHW) is seeking to appoint a Co-Director with responsibility for Early Career researchers (ECRs) from 1st October 2022. Eligible applicants will be members of the Academic Staff at Durham University with a research interest in issues related to health and wellbeing from any disciplinary perspective. WRIHW is an interdisciplinary institute, working across faculties and departments (academic and non-academic); we welcome applicants from any Faculty and any Department.
