Biography

PhD student in Dr Miguel De Lucas' research group studying the impact of temperature on cell fate regulation in plants. This research project utilizes a novel microfluidics system integrating the generation of precise temperature gradients with real-time visualisation of cellular responses. A better understanding of the effect of temperature on cell fate and the molecular mechanisms underlying these changes will provide greater insight into the effect of climate change-induced rises in global temperature on crops and how negative impacts to yields can be mitigated.

Attained first class honours in Biological sciences (BSc) at Durham University and was awarded the Biological Sciences Prize and the Gatehouse Prize for plant sciences. Completed a studentship at Durham University involving retrotransposon mobilization in plants and two internship projects at Rothamsted Research Harpenden concerning chromatin compaction and organisation in Arabidopsis mutants.
