Current Role

My interest in social psychology and passion for social change has led me to pursue a PhD as a Peace and Trust Scholar at Durham University. My project aims to identify various psychological (emotions and appraisals) and physiological factors motivating behavioural responses to moral disagreements around transgender and abortion rights. I take a mixed approach and work with qualitative, quantitative and physiological (challenge and threat) measures. I have trained in physiology for two years under Dr McPhetres and I recently completed a research visit at the physiology lab of Prof Daan Scheepers based at Leiden University. My works benefits from the supervision of Dr Kutlaca, Dr McPhetres and Prof Paolini.

Beyond my PhD work, I am also involved in other research projects. As a part of the Physiology lab, I have engaged in research on goosebumps. I am also pursuing other collaborations focused on morality, social change and conflict.

As the Quantitative Social Psychology Group student representative for the academic year 2022-23, I organised various research community-fostering activities. For the academic year 2023-24, I was the Postgraduate Research Student representative alongside Georgia Tuohy and we organised various community-building and professional development activities for the PGR students. We also organised the annual PGR Conference. I am also a part of the Social Change Lab and the Behaviour and Physiology Lab research groups.
