Biography
Eleanor is a second year PhD student in the Department of Law, starting in October 2021. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Exeter, gaining an LLB Hons, before completing an MRes in Socio-Legal Research.
Current Research
Eleanor’s PhD research, provisionally titled: “An Investigation into the Medical Management of Intersex Infants: Towards Meaningful Law Reform in the UK” is being funded by Durham Law School and supervised by Dr Camilla Pickles (medical law and ethics), Professor Emma Cave (children in healthcare), and Dr Emma Milne (research methods).The research aims to directly engage with medical practitioners in order to investigate the factors driving non-therapeutic treatments for intersex infants.
