Biography
Dr Judith Koch’s research lies at the intersection of International Political Economy and International Relations Historical Sociology with an empirical focus on Brexit, European (financial) integration, the City of London, processes of financialisation, and global financial hierarchies.
Judith joined SGIA as a Career Development Fellow in IPE in January 2026. Prior to coming to Durham she was a Research Associate in the Centre for Global Political Economy at the University of Sussex. She received her PhD (no corrections/summa cum laude) from Sussex in March 2025.
With a professional background in journalism, Judith specialises in research communication and knowledge transfer, creating and producing academic podcasts (including Voices: The EISA Podcast and others) and providing media and podcasting training for academics.
