Biography

I graduated from the University of Sheffield with a MBiolSci in Biochemistry and Genetics. During my undergraduate I worked in a microbiology lab and in a molecular neuroscience lab interested in the study of axonal transport. My work was mainly focused on tubulin and its optimised one-step purification. The optimisation of this one-step purification allowed to obtain tubulin from a wide range of sources and carry out different comparative studies. Now for my PhD I am applying my biochemistry knowledge for the design and synthesis of lipid/protein cages. This type of constructs have been used as drug delivery systems for a while. My PhD project aims to further develop them to better fit the needs of a drug carrier.
