Biography
Biography
I'm a first-year PhD student in the Department of Sociology researching sexual violence and started my PhD in September 2021. In January 2019 I graduated from my MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Durham University which focused on women's experiences of street harassment in the UK. Following my masters, I worked in research administration as a project coordinator for 2 and a half years, on a multi-agency collaborative project with 8 Higher Education Institutions and 8 industry partners.
Field of Study
My doctoral research is funded by the ESRC NINE DTP studentships, and seeks to investigate sexual harassment on public transport in the North East of England. My research project is in collaboration with Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland, a local service providing support to women and girls who have experienced sexual violence. A charity who I've volunteered with for the past 3 years as both an activist and fundraiser. I'm hoping my research will make a real world change in the local community.
