Junpeng Liu


Biography

Junpeng Liu is a doctoral student at the school of Education, Durham University. He is supervised by Professor Jens Beckmann and Professor Nadin Beckmann. Before his PHD, Junpeng Liu completed his undergraduate degree at Beijing University—Hongkong Baptist University International College (UIC) in China. He also completed a Master degree programme at Durham University. 

He used to be social worker in Guangzhong social worker institute (逢源人家—Fengyuan social worker station) from 2019-2020 and and also worked with families having children with disability concerns as a social worker in Zhuhai Disabled Persons’ Federation (珠海市残疾人联合会康复中心) from 2020-2021.

His PhD research aims to investigate the association between autism traits and the performance in Cognitive Flexibility tasks among university students. As such, he studies cognitive ability and executive functioning, as well as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Through this study, he hopes to contribute to a better understanding of the challenges and potentials of autistic university students and see what role students’ cultural backgrounds plays.
